The land of unease

"Our mental attitude makes even ordinary tasks difficult to perform when we approach them with a negative thought. Repeated failures or refusal to do what our contemporaries are able to accomplish often causes further breakdown in self-confidence and increases fear. A Christian need never be dominated by this negative habit."

Tim Ha Laye

... The quest had begun. Were they all just able-bodied men who only appeared to be mighty? In their words, they said, "we can't". The shreds of evidence of their fear showed their little or no faith in the love, power, and plan of their maker.

For forty days they explored the land and in their returning they said: “We entered the land you sent us to explore, and it is indeed a bountiful country—a land flowing with milk and honey. Here is the kind of fruit it produces."

Wow! This must be wonderful! They had seen a few of God's amazing creatures. Who wouldn't desire something great for God's sake?

Although they desired, was that enough to attain? Wishes wouldn't build wonders!

Painfully there was an issue. It was a but to them, their ignorance of the strength of their maker.

The people living there are powerful, and their towns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak!

Ah! Ema koba mi o (don’t implicate me o) so did Caleb say in his tone.
But Caleb tried to quiet the people as they stood before Moses. “Let’s go at once to take the land,” he said. “We can certainly conquer it!”

With all these, their minds unable to see beyond. They were myopic and so they disagreed with him saying :

We can’t go up against them! They are stronger than we are!”. To the amazement of their maker. They brought many down together with them with their evil reports.

We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak. Next to them, we felt like grasshoppers, and that’s what they thought, too!”

Ahhhh, aren't they the image of the living God? In the similitude of a grasshopper they walked. Till they wept and sought for a rebellion against their maker even though Joshua and Caleb tried when it was said to them:

And if the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us safely into that land and give it to us. It is a rich land flowing with milk and honey.

Till they got the harvest of their fears for they had not sown the seeds of faith. They lost the promised land...

The world is no place for mediocres. Hey! In the words of Jesus: Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. You were made to mount up with wings as eagles.

To them, it is a land of unease, but they that know their God will be strong and will do exploit.

A whole lot of lesson, never entertain fear as a believer ,it hinders faith to work through love in getting the promises of God for our lives.

Fear only God,any other fear is a sin....Thanks for sharing this
