Dear Distinguished -- Obey The Golden Rule


Dear Distinguished, 
  You know how we do it yeah? I tell you a story you can relate or cruise with, you read between the lines, get blessed and God is pleased with us. Sounds like fun?

  I wanted to buy chebe powder from one of these fulani women few weeks ago. This woman is quite old, so I asked her the price first. Her reply made me exclaim 'omo'! She 'mal-heard' me and said I called her 'mumu'. Guy, I quickly cleared her o. Why will I call somebody's mother mumu? Something you can fight me for if you hear the gist outside.
 I explained myself, she understood, and sold me the chebe balls at the price I was willing to pay. Wait, don't kill me. I know it's chebe powder but she sold balls for me and said I should go and grind it myself. Then she left. Peacefully. 

   At her exit, my colleague (I was at work)said "I like how you quickly cleared her. Make she no go carry you for mind". Then other guys started telling stories of their experience with people from that region. How a slight misunderstanding led to the death of someone. And cases where ignorance on a minor's part brought trouble to the family. My only response to these was laughter because I had never heard such. Or have you? 
My boss chipped "seems you know these people very well for you to have set things straight". I wondered where I could have heard such stories and laughed at the absurdity.  

   Now read this, ignorance of some information should not exclude rudeness on my part or yours. If you mind people using offensive words on you, then don't use it on others. What's that golden rule again? Do unto others as you'll have them do to you. Don't give people prescriptions you cannot follow. It doesn't matter if I'm black or white, you should treat me fairly. Else, we'll meet somewhere and fight.

Let your light shine in how you treat people. It may not guarantee you a treat with me. But your Father up above, is looking down in love. So be careful distinguished, what you do.
