The Subject Of Faith

The subject of faith is an indispensable talk in the Christendom. Everything about Christianity centers on faith. It starts from faith, it ends in faith. There really is no single thing you can do as a Christian without faith, because of course, the very basis of your salvation is faith.

You heard a person preach salvation - how that God loved you so much that he sent his only son to die for you, how that Jesus took upon himself all the pains that came with the cross, just to give you a clean sheet before God.

Those words made sense to you because you believed in the possibility. Now, that's faith. It's why the Bible says in the tenth chapter and tenth verse of Romans that : For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

It is the reason we are called believers! Now, many believers, in the course of their walk with God, tend to get so familiar with the subject of faith, that they barely accord it much use after salvation. But that's not okay. Faith is one factor that you'll always need as a believer for as long as you're alive.

At salvation, you need faith. Post-salvation, you need it even more. Because, you see, the journey of a believer is not a bed of roses. Ephesians 6:12
[12]For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

You are up against myriads of contentions- against your soul, your body, and Spirit. As a matter of fact, the more growth you attain as a believer, the more tensed the contentions get.

But not to worry, Christ has fought and won every one of the battles! You are readily victorious! The scoreboard has been penned to your favour even before the start of the battle.

1 John 5:4-5
[4]For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
[5]Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

However, the victory, although has been made ready, has to be consciously accessed. What gives you that access is faith. Unless you believe you are victorious, you simply cannot be. If you are not sure Jesus has won for you, you cannot lay hold of a different reality.

If you desire an intimate experience with God and the person of His Spirit, you need faith more than the way you need oxygen to breathe. You must create an internal consciousnes first. Faith must be operational. You must approach things from a place of perfect confidence.

Hebrews 11:6
[6]But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Finally, the key to answered prayers is the effect of faith. The place of prayers must be approached from a standpoint of faith.

1 John 5:14-15
[14]And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
[15]And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Faith may sound like cliche, but is infact, a potent weapon of war for you as a believer, in the world that you are in.

Blessings!

TFO.
