MY STRUGGLE WITH PORNOGRAPHY [2]

The believer is never meant to be isolated. That is why fellowshipping with other believers, being in communion with other Christians is important for us. It helps us to see one another as a big family of God who should actually be there for one another. We should not pat acts of sin on the head and act okay with it, but we still should learn to carry out our correction in love. Ann found it very hard talking to someone because of the perceived shame she thought that she would get. She needed help and knew that she did but asking for it was tough enough. We all need one another to survive. Be that shoulder a fellow brother or sister can lean on. Let’s not always let our conversations be riddled with needless things that we do not notice subtle pleas for help. The Lord help us. Amen.

I was going deeper into the sin. But one thing I always noticed was that the feeling and urge was always coming persistently whenever I was alone. Days and weeks went by with me rolling and going deeper into pornography and masturbation. There were times that I would just cry and want to take my life away because I so much hated myself for it.

I thank God for coming to my rescue during a vigil on the group. I didn't really have data but I just felt an urge to come online to join the vigil. During the impartation, God used Pastor Kay for me. I chatted him up and that was how my journey out of pornography and masturbation ended. That very day, I became totally free from it and walked away from sins of which I am very sure that I will never go back to. Concerning my own life, the devil has lost the battle. Glory to God!

Before I bring my story to an end I want to admonish young teenagers like me that are going through this. I have been through it and I know how it feels to be in it especially when you are teenager that is on fire for God. I want you to know that both God and the Devil are in a battle in your heart but it still boils down to you. You decide which one wins like the Bible says there is a way that seems right to a man but the end thereof is death. The way of death usually seems right to man. Sincerely when I was always masturbating I enjoyed it because it kills my urge for sex which was however wrong. I must add that the Joy I have been experiencing when I stepped into light is more than before.

  ▪ Please and please, try to open up to anyone:  You can walk up to any of the admin or just chat up Pastor Kay. He was the vessel God used for me and I can guarantee you that you can be helped also if you open up to others. Most preferable someone that you are comfortable with that is however a leader or a better person. Emphasis on the person being a believer here though. Opening up helps to deal with the accompanying guilt and encourage you prayerfully to quit the habits.

▪ Also, always meditate on God’s word, the Bible. The Psalmist said “Your words have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you”. As I have previously said, in your heart there is a battle going on and it depends on what is there that will determine who wins the battle. So keep His words in your heart always.

▪ Ensure you always get your hands doing something. Like the adage says, an idle hand is the devil's workshop. Imagine if I had gotten myself busy at that time I’m sure I wouldn't have found myself in the pit of pornography and masturbation.

▪ As regards the sites where these videos are found, you can do things to ensure that you don't come across such sites. There are applications that could be employed to help you see to that. You can freeze apps you know are prone to expose you to the same or tell a close friend to help password it.
The friends you find yourself with really matters a lot. If the friends you have are the ones that always say rubbish or indulge in such acts, you should avoid them because it won't help matters.

 ▪ We all need companionship at one point or the other. So you can move closer to someone that once had issues with it and was able to overcome it. Sure you can talk better and relate with the person as regards his/her experiences.

Do things that will bring you closer to God. Reading Gods word, prayer and fasting. In the group, we do fast every Wednesday you can always join. Even if you can't fast, ensure that you pray. Pray for yourself. Commune with your Father about it. He really is concerned as well.

Please don't not be afraid of shame, look for someone to open up to. It was one of the major reason why it took long for me to get free from the bondage. A good start is with friends around you, Sunday school teachers, those more experienced and probably ahead of you in the faith. Distinguished Teenagers admin are also great folks, ready to help out anytime.
I hope this blesses someone battling with pornography and masturbation. I also pray that as you read this the mighty hand of God will come upon you and you become totally free from the sin.

Now if you don't battle with any of the sins, let us ensure that we always step in the shoes of others to pray for them. We should always pray for teenagers around the world going across various issues such as these and many that God would help them out, particularly believers like us. Remember the devil is going all about like a roaring lion seeking for whom to devour.
Thank you so much. Remain blessed.
Yours in Christ,
Ann Onymous
