On Self-discovery

Self-discovery is a lifelong exploration through our inner self, trying to discover who we are, our potential, our purpose in life, and what core principles are guiding us to take different paths along the way.

The journey starts with self awareness then explores personal interests as well as hopes and dreams for the future. The journey eventually leads us to self knowledge which will enable us to guide ourselves towards situations and experience in which we'll thrive.

Jeremiah 29:11For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Now, let's talk about one or two factors that result in self discovery. 🥂

*Self - awareness* : There's a prior need to identify what you are before going ahead to discover who you are It is in the process of getting aware of self that the discovery of self rubs off. And as believers, our identity is engrafted in the word of God When we spend quality time with God through his word, day in, day, out, our realities begin to swallow us up.

When you study the scriptures, and you see that "You are not ordinary, you are a manifestation of the Godhead and the spirit of Christ dwells in you, hence, excellence is your nature" your internal and external environment begins to get aligned and your self awareness becomes established.

The scriptures contain all the identity revelations you'd ever need to become Self aware.

I saw a rhyme somewhere, and I'll like to share. It says: "I have a future that cannot be fractured because it is structured by the scriptures"As believers, the scriptures is what structures our future.

1 Peter 2:9:But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

: When you know that you are peculiar, peculiarity will become your reality

*The word of God is our standard.*

. *Self - reflection*: Every now and then, we need to reflect on ourselves : our values, interests, life patterns, traits and qualities. This is one of the factors that leads us to clarity in the respect of self discovery.

What interests you? What does success mean to you? What gives you a sense of fulfilment more?

As a student, if I reflect on myself, I can certainly notice that literature turns me really on and I have a fiery zeal for the arts. This way, I have discovered myself and won't be confused what to do with my life.

*One hour of reflection can save you ten years of confusion.*

*Do not be overwhelmed by so much activities and trends*

Quieten your internal environment and figure yourself out.

Psalms 23:2-3:He lets me rest in the meadow grass and leads me beside the quiet streams. He gives me new strength. He helps me do what honors him the most.

*If you spend 30 minutes doing constructive thinking, solutions will drop on your mind.*

Instead of always whirling your time away on social media, you can actually go to a secluded place and do some reflections.

The world is too noisy for self discovery, if you ask me.Silence is golden to self discovery. And reflection should be done every now and then. This way, you can always keep your values in check. Life is irregular and this trend is dangerous for us as children of God. We need to get it and get it right.

*Self-development* : The hunger for growth and development also make for self discovery. Of course, no one discovers themselves on the bed of complacency.

The sorry narrative of your life must tire you

People who are okay with averages think self discovery is so much stress, after all. They like where they are and see no point in forging ahead. Point blank, you cannot be stationed and discover yourself at the same time.Everything happens in motion.

In the process of developing yourself, you will almost certainly discover yourself.This happened to me.It was during the times that I committed to reading books that I discovered I have a flair for public speaking.

I have, since then, been working on myself, knowing I'll get to limelight, some day.

And of course, I'm low-key informing you to call on me if there's any gig around you.🤪Do Most of us even know that your University degree is not all there, necessarily, should be about you? Because you see, studying medicine, law, accounting, cannot fill the void only fulfilment of purpose can. Now some are called into these professions I listed.

But find your own voice and be sure.

This system (world) is too volatile for anyone to follow the crowd. May we not tell future generations stories that touch.

Self-discovery is what brings fulfilment because fulfilment comes when you do what you were created to do.

In a world where everything revolves around traditional education and self discovery is left out, suicide rates will keep skyrocketing. People are not satisfied.
: That void within us can only be filled by fulfilment of purpose which only self discovery brings.: Do well to find your own voice and live with it..

The world won't need a fake version of yourself. For He who created you did it Fearfully and wonderfully that you may fit in perfectly only to that place where you belong in your real self.
