THE QUESTION OF IDENTITY

Is it the knowledge of who one is? Maybe the difference or character that marks off an individual from the rest of the same kind, selfhood or a name or persona—the mask or appearance one presents to the world—by which one is known. What then could it be? It still draws back to a definition of who you are and what you represent. Why are you who you are?

The truth is: When your identity is found in the Creator, you will be empowered to create on levels that swallow up other forms of creativity which do not align with His sovereignty.

Speaking of the different forms the issue of identity may rise, here I will be writing about certain things we need to understand as regards this issue.

The place of God in identity is a very unique and crucial place in identifying who one really is and why. When God created man, it was a very special one. Why? God did that in his own image and likeness. This is our real identity and where it actually lies.

What identity do you carry? Is it the fake one given by the deceit of yourself, others or the devil. Many times we assume our make and keep deceiving ourselves by defining what we aren’t.
Who do you represent? Do you represent God or the devil? You know nowadays we all have forgotten that the foundation of God stands sure and that he knows those who are his. Be sincere are you a child of God or a child of the devil. You need not to be shy jare. What dimensions of God do you represent?

What are you known for? This should help answer. In how you relate with others, how you speak, character and all. Are you known as a believer.
1st Timothy 4:12
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
Where should you find your identity? In God. He knows best.

What’s your identity as God’s representative? There is a necessity for filling up your space in this world. When God blesses you know it that He has done that that you also be a blessing to others. Just as ambassadors represents their countries so do we in this time. You are wealthy God expects that you reveal the dimension of His wealth to that poor soul. You are saved God expects that you also bring others to the knowledge of the truth. One aspect of God’s omnipresent nature is that He has us all over the world that we shine as light in this present world. That we show others who are around us that there is a God who knows and loves them. Is God not disappointed in us by the numerous ways we have let greed and Selfishness take a whole or part of our lives?

2nd Corinthians 1:4
Who comforts (consoles and encourages) us in every trouble (calamity and affliction), so that we may also be able to comfort (console and encourage) those who are in any kind of trouble or distress, with the comfort (consolation and encouragement) with which we ourselves are comforted (consoled and encouraged) by God.

Taking an example of 3 things which should help as regards our identity, here is Deborah
Judges 4:4:And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.

So, who is Deborah? I learnt this from a teaching and I hope it helps
Not the rigid template for answering this question but I’ll love to point somethings out..
Prophetess – Her spiritual role..
Wife – Family.. Marriage
Judged Israel — Career

Your identity…
Involves your name(like a marker for you) and all that is accrued to that name…
_Who you are in Christ,, and who you are on earth doing the will of the Father._
Who are you in Christ? Ignorance of who we are continually make us fall victim or preys to man’s deceit from the devil..*From giving in to that wrong relationship, to being friends with those who ridicule you to not applying for things because you just believe that they are for “some people.”*

Feelings of unworthiness.. stems from not knowing who you are..
Stop hiding, attend to the need you were born for. Appreciate who you are and stop feeling unworthy or unhappy.

Romans 12:2
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
It’s never too late to identify who you really are.

Why not examine yourself whether your identity matches up with Christ. He’s waiting for your reply. Speak to Him and commit your life into his care. To have God’s identity then you must first surrender your life into His care, accepting His love which he showed by sending forth His son Jesus to die for you.
