A letter from Amnon

Dear Distinguished,

How are you doing today? I hope you are doing well to take care of your self and to understand the desires you are prone to have?

My step-sister must have written to you as at this time. Who knows if you have ever heard about me at all. The verse below should give you an insight

2 Samuel 3:2

THESE ARE THE SONS WHO WERE BORN TO DAVID IN HEBRON: THE OLDEST WAS AMNON, WHOSE MOTHER WAS AHINOAM FROM JEZREEL.

I am the son of one of the greatest Kings of all time. The oldest of the children of David. It will be my delight to pass a message to you. I hope that in the end you do not detest me but learn from me and be wise. 

My thoughts were preoccupied and dominated by emotions which I should have curbed. Should I say I shouldn’t have given room to them at all. You see those things will one day fade away. Peradventure, you might loose interest in some things or even hate them after you might have lustfully possessed them. It's the issue of obsession. 

There are numerous ways to acquire certain things. But there is always a right way. Just be patient. 

I had a very beautiful sister, a step-sister. She was beautiful to behold. Who detests a good thing? This was my plight :

2 Samuel 13:2

AMNON BECAME SO OBSESSED WITH TAMAR THAT HE BECAME ILL. SHE WAS A VIRGIN, AND AMNON THOUGHT HE COULD NEVER HAVE HER.

Yeah! It got to that stage where I fell sick just to have her. I even thought I'd die if I could never have her. 

To compound the whole situation ;

2 Samuel 13:3

BUT AMNON HAD A VERY CRAFTY FRIEND—HIS COUSIN JONADAB. HE WAS THE SON OF DAVID’S BROTHER SHIMEA.

Although, he was a cousin he was also my friend and a crafty one. Sometimes, it’s very important to be careful of the friends you keep. They should be the ones to discourage you from doing wrong things. Be careful of those who you seek counsel from. It either makes or mar you.

As a friend who may also be in the position to help with your words or advice, what type of friend will you be at that point where your advice will be what will save a life?. Will God regret giving you a tongue? Will men regret ever meeting you or speaking to you? Think about it. 

My cousin who was also was my friend gave me an advice which I followed.  At the end I raped my own sister. A sheep led to the slaughter! In all, it was my decision to make. I’m certain she must have written to you to share these things. 

2 Samuel 13:15

THEN SUDDENLY AMNON’S LOVE TURNED TO HATE, AND HE HATED HER EVEN MORE THAN HE HAD LOVED HER. “GET OUT OF HERE!” HE SNARLED AT HER.

At the end, all that I obsessed over was what I detested. My flesh had gotten it’s desires and left me alone to face the wrath. I was later killed by my half brother who sought revenge for his sister.

 What was the fate of my cousin? Did he also suffer for the advice or did he not leave me to bear the consequences.

Be wise to see beyond that step of yours and trust the Holy Spirit. He’s there to teach you all things.

There's a book you now have with a mandate beyond your widest imaginations. It's the Bible! 

2 Timothy 3:16

EVERY SCRIPTURE IS GOD-BREATHED (GIVEN BY HIS INSPIRATION) AND PROFITABLE FOR INSTRUCTION, FOR REPROOF AND CONVICTION OF SIN, FOR CORRECTION OF ERROR AND DISCIPLINE IN OBEDIENCE, [AND] FOR TRAINING IN RIGHTEOUSNESS (IN HOLY LIVING, IN CONFORMITY TO GOD’S WILL IN THOUGHT, PURPOSE, AND ACTION),

That’s a great deal over there and an advantage which you shouldn’t take for granted. Don’t forget that you are loved. Never break a trust all in the name of obsession.
