Dear Distinguished,

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people, that you should show forth the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Don't you see it? You have been called out. You're not to conform to the status quo. You've been chosen even amongst the called. You have an unction of grace. You're not to be moved. 

You see and know all these is true concerning you yeah? Why then do you strive to be at par with your mates? Why do you want to own bragging rights? Why do you seek the approval of men? Why do you even do what you have been doing since the beginning of the lock down? I'll tell you a story. 

I know a girl who has done very little in the past 4 months when compared to you. You know you have been reading the bible from cover to cover, praying 1 hour for every 2 hours you're awake, reading ahead of your course outline, learning a trade, you've taken online courses and even got certificates, started a business or better still, landed yourself a whopping 6 figure salary remote job, is that not so? You've achieved a whole lot in the last few months and I'm super proud of you! 

However, this girl has not done one third of what you have. In fact, what you're taking as a hobby is her future ambitions. Whenever she is out on an errand, she is greeted with questions like so what are you doing now? What have you been learning during this period? Have you just been sleeping at home? Abbl...

 Do you know there's a high tendency for this young girl to get depressed? Do you know she can start her own whatsapp TV just to belong? Or learn a trade she's not thrilled about just to avoid the what-are-you-doing-now question? Do you know the young girl in this story is me? Do you know I am not depressed over the situation on ground? Do you know I'm sometimes discouraged, but never defeated? 

What ever what may come my way, my life is in God's hands. This is my testimony as my soul rest in Him. Who knows, maybe by the time this phase is over, I'd be a graduate of the University of Hard Knocks. Eventually, this too shall pass.

 It's so easy to get carried away with the trend but what exactly is your motive? Search your heart and see if there be any negative intention. Commit your ways unto the Lord, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.

Let your light so shine before men. If you're cold like other fireplace, how will the people be warm?
