Silhouette
The first man,
Created to be an example for every man.
He was to act in the likeness of his maker
And be seen as a silhouette of his maker.
But the true picture is never seen in shadows
And reality they often fail to show.
Hence, in his task the first man failed
And the likeness of his maker he couldn't portray.
Mankind became a failure
For the fate of the silhouette became the fate of us all.
Weeping, gnashing of teeth.
Crying, grinding of feet.
That was what became our fate.
We saw consequences of our lack of faith
For our failure begat death in us
And the good things of life became lost to us.
Life became alien to us
And death, completely our lot.
But indeed it wasn't our fault
For it was the silhouette that failed and not us.
Hence the silhouette only succeeded
By proving a better picture was needed.
One that will show the maker to us,
Revealing Him as He truly is
That we may regain all that we lost
Only by seeing and beholding Him.
The picture in a manger was born.
In the poorest form He came to us
For having all the world's riches
Is nothing compared to having Him.
In the helpless babe that lay in a manger
Was all the fullness of life's author.
By beholding Him, we aren't strangers
To the realities of the creator.
The way and path to God was made,
The broken bridge taken away.
Only by embracing His selfless love,
We are completely free from the Silhouette's curse.
By acceptance of His finished works,
We are partakers of God's divine nature.
