Dear Distinguished -- Random Check-Up

Dear Distinguished,

How are you? I know you would love to strangle me for being MIA (missing in action) for such a long time but please, forgive my inadequacies. I missed you. Did you miss me?

A lot has been going on with me and I bet you can say the same too. On my part, I am too tired of relying on my strength. Guess what I did? I cast my cares on Abba. He loves me, so He has been so faithful this week - that should explain why I can write you.

You see, cast your cares on Him. He cares for you.

When I started writing this letter, I had the mind of sharing lessons from 'How to be a Blessing' with you. It was a session we had on Distinguished Teenagers WhatsApp group chat last night. But, I have changed my mind.

Right now, the time is 00:53 am (WAT) and I'm vibing to Mama TY Bello's 'Green Land'. Yeah, you got that right. The same "the land is green, is green, oh oh; the land is green, is green can't you see?"

Oh how I love(d) this song!

Quick story on why I'm jamming this 2007 hit song in 2021.

I was scrolling through Pastor Laju Iren's Instagram account and enjoying the quality content there when I saw a shared post from TY Bello's page. She put up the post on October 1st in celebration of Nigeria's Independence Day.

As caption, she included the situation that birthed the song coupled with the lyrics. I immediately knew I was going to download that song. See the lyrics in the picture below:

Listening to the song again with the background story and lyrics, I have a better understanding. A part of the song says:

"For every seed I've sown, the Lord of the harvest knows I'm reaping back a hundred fold."

And this, my darling, is true for you and I. God sees our efforts, hard work, desire to improve, steps to grow, seeds of faith... He sees and knows we are reaping our rewards in hundreds and thousands!

Galatians 6:9 is a verse of the Bible I love so much as it says : So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. (MSG)

And that is how I successfully used this whole blogpost to discuss Greenland by TY Bello. Go download it and listen with the lyrics. You will thank me.

Concerning the initial topic I had in mind to write about, should I still go ahead? Comment below if you want me to still share lessons from 'How to be a Blessing' with you.

P.S. TY Bello's mouth will ache by the time I'm done with this song hehehe

Selah,

The Distinguished.
