You Can Still Do It

July, the seventh month of the year wraps up in just a matter of five days. The ride has been a really long one, full of highs and lows, and many silent discoveries in-between. The advent of a new year is usually a noticeable pump in the adrenaline levels of almost everyone.

And as a teenager that you are, it is possible that you entered the New Year with ear-marked goals for yourself, things you looked forward to see yourself doing, things you looked forward to seeing yourself becoming.

But, let me ask – how are you doing with these goals? How many of them have you ticked? Few? None? Relax. I’m not here to beat you, neither should you beat yourself. I honestly get this thing, right?

I get that this is life, and we sometimes do not get what we anticipated – at least not very easily.

Life happens to our goals. I mean, you set goals for yourself and in the course of the months, get caught up in activities and things you did not see coming. No matter how great these activities are, though, they are distractions. Whatever takes your attention from the goals you have for yourself is a distraction.

And with this knowledge in mind, you should now work on managing your time effectively, such that you do not major in the minor things and minor in the major things. What I am saying is, go back to the pad on which your goals were written and kick-start the process again. Inaction is a poison, and an action is the only antidote.

The six months ahead of you are and can be enough time for you to tick every single goal on your list. But rather than waiting for a perfect time to get something done, start something right from where you are. Did you plan to read twenty books this year, and you haven’t been able to read any?

Here is what you can do – once you are done reading this article, get a book of your choice, and read some lines or a page immediately! This is how to break the block.

Do not let perfectionism keep you stuck in a rut forever. Do something about the goals you penned on your note at the beginning of the year.

You can still do it!

I believe in you.
